Mitchell Gerber Founder / Principal
Mr. Gerber is one of the three Principals of MSG Consulting. He has over 20 years of diverse experience in the risk management and insurance industry. Mr. Gerber’s areas of expertise include Real Estate, Retail, Manufacturing, Construction Operations, and Mergers and Acquisitions due diligence. His clients operate both domestically and internationally.
Prior to founding MSG Consulting Inc. in 1991, Mr. Gerber joined the insurance consulting firm of UIC, Inc. in 1987 in which he became a Managing Director. Mr. Gerber began his insurance career at American Mutual Insurance Company, where he gained extensive experience in both underwriting and commercial sales. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, with a B.S. Degree in Finance.
Stephen Gerber Founder / Principal
Mr. Gerber has over 25 years of extensive worldwide experience in all areas of Risk Management. In 1991, Stephen and his brother Mitchell, noted above, founded MSG Consulting Inc. Prior to founding MSG Consulting, Mr. Gerber had joined UIC Inc. at its inception in 1987 where he also became a Managing Director.
Mr. Gerber’s clients are located both domestically and internationally. His areas of expertise include Real Estate, Retail, Importing, and Construction operations. Mr. Gerber is recognized as an expert in the risk management field and has lectured on various insurance related topics. In addition, he has served as an expert witness for insurance cases on many occasions.
Mr. Gerber began his career at The Equitable Insurance Group where he gained extensive experience in underwriting and sales. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego with a B.S. Degree in Economics.
Craig K. Barnet CIC - Principal
Mr. Barnet is a principal who has been with MSG Consulting Inc. since 2003 and has extensive experience within the risk management and insurance industry. He serves his clients, which are located both domestically and abroad, in a wide range of industries such as Real Estate, Retail, Distribution, Hospitality, and Construction. He provides expert assistance in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice where he has completed numerous due diligence reports for large transactions. He also is the Director of Operations at MSG, and manages the daily internal functions of the organization.
Mr. Barnet began his career at BAI, an insurance brokerage firm in the Northeast, where he started in commercial sales and ultimately rose to the position of Vice President of Commercial Lines. He is a graduate from the University of Delaware with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He holds a Certified Insurance Counselor Designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
